This year I participated in LOOK curated by the lovely Lyn Dallison for Auckland’s Artweek in October 10-18, 2015. The display venue I chose this time was at Matchbox studios (a new k’rd store which opened up in Auckland earlier this year).
Statement:
Cavity, crater, a mountainous plateau;
Coral, conglomerate, organic growth.
Concentric, circular, obliquely coned;
Cardamon, copper, sautéed walnut husks.
The everyday, re-contextualised; materials, transformed;
Inspiration, from the observed world, re-interpreting natural forms.
Re-making the readymade, process of repetition;
A simplistic action into idiosyncratic configurations.
